In the Land of Blood and Honey

This movie takes place in the 1990’s during the Bosnian War that tore the Balkan region apart, it tell the story of a soldier named Danijel fighting for the Serbs, and Ajla, a Bosnian who is held captive in the camp he oversees. They knew each other before the war, and could have found love with each other. But as the armed conflict takes hold of their lives, their relationship grows darker, their motives and connection to one another ambiguous, their allegiances uncertain.

This movie is very, very graphic! There was one point where I thought I was going to have to look away from the screen - thankfully I didn't have to! I know the movie can seem to be too much at times, but a huge part of Angelina Jolie's life is as a Good Will Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, this is something she sees and knows about and is trying to show the world that this is what happens and that it happens to women and children as sad as it is.

Angelina Jolie's gut-wrenching look into the Bosnian War that must be seen.

Contraband (2012)

This movie was great! I was on the edge of my seat jumping and twitching. Really good story line and acting from the entire cast.

A former smuggler who got out of the business to become a family man. Starts up his own business and life is great until his brother-in-law gets into trouble in the same profession he once excelled in. He uses his contacts to get back in and save his families life but not without full action packed excitement and betrayal!!

Mark Wahlberg is always amazing to me. Giovanni Ribisi is incredible and plays a bad guy so well.

The Iron Lady

I feel this movie did not show enough on the political side of her life, and to think of all the material they had to work with. Yet I did enjoy it! as always, the performance by Meryl Streep was flawless. I am happy she won a Golden Globe for best actress in a drama. This movie is worth watching for her portrayal alone.

What a distinctive, practical, revolutionary individual Margaret Thatcher was - yet this movie managed to provide little political substance nor enlightenment into the personal struggles and achievements this woman managed to deliver and experienced throughout her journey as the first female leader of a country which at the time was one of the most patriarchal, class based, yet economic leaders of the western world. To me it was based more on what her life is like today.

and the Golden Globe goes to...

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

I know a lot of people are saying this is an amazing movie and I will say there are a lot of great actors in it who did a good job! Especially Gary Oldman. I have to say that I had no idea what was going on for at least the first hour or more. The last half hour was the best part of the movie to me, all the pieces finely came together and I figured out what was going on! The rhythm of the movie was also very, very slow. All in all the movie was just okay to me.
